A Winner in the Wind

It is very windy in Adelaide today, and rather warm for the time of year.  The house next door to my own has just been sold for a record price, I believe, though the mystery buyer bought it as a job lot with the household contents and the art collection.  The final bid was for...

...eighty seven million dollars, which is rather more than I can afford.

Would you have placed a bid?

There were a great many eager viewers in attendance, many of whom were not participating in the bidding.  Watching auctions is apparently a popular pastime in Adelaide.  My acquaintance Kate the Great and her friends were all there, but even they had to forgo the opportunity to live next door to me, which is very fortunate indeed from my point of view.

I am rather concerned at present about the possibility of a large piece of space junk falling on my little studio here.  You may know that I can move my studio from the house to the garden pavilion and to a celestial teapot, depending on my mood and my daily schedule.  I shall be retiring to the teapot for a few days, I think, to dodge any unpleasant objects.  It would be quite amusing, however, if something owned by NASA landed on the house next door.
